AC kept malfunctioning; Delhi consumer court orders replacement with Rs 15,000

In a decisive ruling, a Delhi consumer commission has mandated an air conditioner manufacturer to replace a faulty unit after a consumer's Voltas AC proved defective shortly after its July 2024 purchase. The manufacturer and seller must also pay Rs 15,000 for inadequate service, compensating for not only the malfunction but also the consumer's mental distress and allowing for interest on the outstanding amounts.
